Our Herd

Bulls

KAP Nater Potater
"Spud"

Our #1 herd sire, and a position well deserved, Spud is an overeating oaf of a sweetheart.  His first calves within our herd will be dropping this summer - so stay tuned!
DLT Red Pride
"Red"

By no means second best, Red is incredible in his own right.  Because he's a very small bull, I've used him on my first calf heifers.  His babies will be coming shortly.
* Gold Prince 6N49
"Prince" is an awesome little bull, and I had high hopes to watch him perform.  Maybe someone else will get that opportunity.  He's been haltered as a calf, but would need a refresher course.  Very gentle.

Cow Family 1 (Brookview)

BA Miss Silver Spark 3782  - My favorite classic cow.  Solid FS 3.  She looks bred, but hasn't dropped her calf yet.  Gentle temperament, some pigment. Keeps her condition really well. 2003
BA Miss Dynamic Le 4782- My second favorite Classic cow. FS 3. Had an awesome heifer last year.  Has some pigment, very gentle, will eat treats out of your hand in a large pasture. Hasn't calved yet. 2004
LS Miss Husker K407 -   Nice cow, I really like her.  Has a nice little bull at side now to Spud's service. Has some eye pigment – I think 100% but not positive. 2004
BA Miss Mountain Lass 3602 -  Nice cow,  great temperament.  Good conformation.  If memory serves, this girl has pigment around each eye. Hasn't calved yet, but looks bred. FS 3. 2003
LS Miss Husker 4K19 - Nice cow, good conformation. Has had great calves - her first heifer is still in the herd and I may keep her (4K19).  Looked heavy last I saw her.  Right about 45 inches last measurement. 2004
LS Miss KY Brook K773 - Pure Brookview breeding as I recall.  Old, probably need to check her teeth soon but she's holding her own on the mountain.  Has had good calves in the past, and should be bred now.  FS 2ish. 1997

Cow Family 2 (Liberty)

* Liberty's Amelia - old, no teeth.  Has pretty calves.  FS 2 or 3.  Got this girl out of Idaho...not a lot of history on her. 1997 I think.
* Liberty's Rocksy - Nice cow, FS 2 or 3.  Few teeth left.  Conformation-wise, she's the prettiest cow I've seen - when she's in good condition.  She's thin now because I left her on the mountain too long.  Had to pull her calf off. 1999 I think
  * Liberty's Millie - Nice cow.  Holds her own on the mountain.  She's got a good temperament, but isn't a sweetheart.  Great leader for long drives!  I think she's a small Classic. 2000
* Liberty's Daisy - Beautiful cow, had a pretty heifer last year.  I may keep this one - not sure yet. Small Classic. Bull at side. 2002
* Liberty's Christine - Not a great doer on the mountain.  Has gorgeous calves, though, that seem to do just fine.  Small Classic, 2003
* Liberty's Ivy - Nice cow.  I like her quite a bit, she has nice calves.  Bull calf at side to SuperBoy's service. FS 1 or 2-ish. 2002
  * Liberty's Iris - Bull at side.  Was "dehorned" before I bought her, and the horns are nubbins. 2006
LS Cheri Oak P113  - pretty cow.  Very sweet.  Had a nice calf last year and probably has calved since I saw her last. 2001

Cow Family 3 (N049)

LS Miss Husky Mt KZ02 - 45 inch cow or thereabouts.  I like her a lot.  Shes had several really nice babies. 2000

Cow Family 5 (Classic-type Miniatures)

* Emerald Oak Lady N691- the last heifer to calve this year.  She's a great little heifer.  She's going to be small.  2006
  * Silver Duchess K636 - Probably my favorite heifer from the 06 crop.  N691 keeps jostling for position as favorite - it depends on the day.  She's going to be pretty small - has a heifer calf at side out of Red. 2006
  * Silver Oak's Sara K691 - First heifer to calve this year.  Little bull calf to Red. Great temperament.    2006
Subriena - I love this cow.  Nice little bull calf at side.  I may keep this girl if I keep any. 1997
  * Star's Hope 436.  Dam of K636 - has wonderful heifers.  Doesn't look outstanding herself. 2004

Cow Family 6 (Mini-type Miniatures)

* Toughy's Miss America - Small cow, flashy markings, good temperament. 2006
  * Tiny Princess - great little heifer.  Has a dandy bull calf at side. She might have a tendency towards pink eye like her mother, 4K19.  Will be small. 2006
LS Gold Lady 4051 - Dam of X651.  She looks bred, but hasn't calved as of the last time I saw her.  Small cow, no current height.
LS Miss Oaker 49N1 - pretty little cow.  didn't calve last year, but I think that's due to the crappy bulls that she was out with (one was lousy and the other had pink eye all season - again, I didn't have a lot of say there).  Dam of N691. 2004

Cow Family 7 (H461)

Joicin H461 - If I keep one cow, it will be this one.  She's gorgeous, 14 years old and still holding her own on the mountain.  I'd have pulled her off to give her TLC a couple weeks ago, but she's hiding her calf.  All teeth are intact, just ground down to nubbins.  Incredible old girl - great temperament, too.  Calved every year under largent un-care, and was nearly starved to death in 2006 - half the herd sold to that person died - this girl was the only one I thought could make the trip back to Texas at the time.  AND she had a calf still nursing!
